Jelly Shoes... Seriously?

This site shows the top 10 items in fashion during the 80's. I am guilty of wearing and wanting all 10. I am continually amazed at how many things are beginning to come back in style now. I have personally seen Jelly shoes and leggings in the stores recently. However, I refuse to wear them now. Yes, that fact will make me look as old as I now am beginning to feel. 40 is much harder to overcome than 30. Who said 30 was the dreaded birthday... I think 40 should be the new 30. http://www.diddit.com/list-ljlwjv/1980s-fashion-trends/

  1. I remember parachute paints and bell bottoms. I went to the web link for 80s fashion trends; it brought back some good memories. I also remember Leggings, and I think I had some high top sneakers. I also think I had some stonewashed jeans. I grew up going to the roller skating rink all through the 1980s. Parachute paints did not last long in the skating floor. One fall and your paints ripped from one side to the other. Jeans were and are still the attire of choice for the roller skating rink. You can fall down on jeans all night and never show a scratch.

  2. I LOVED my jellies! I remember being very sad when they finally died. Of course since they didn't really breathe my feet STANK! I don't see me buying jellies now. :)

  3. Okay, parachute pants were just ugly. Leggins aren't all that bad--but it does seem like a large segment of the population needs to buy a full length mirror. Not everyone can wear leggins believe it or not! Jellies were so convenient; especially on little kids. If their feet get wet or muddy, just run for the hose. They were great--and I think they look so cute on little girls. Thanks for the memories......

  4. Gosh...I thought parachute pants were just plain ol' ugly. I like leggins, but it does seem like there are a lot of people who wear them that really should own a full length mirror to see what they look like. Jellies are so very practical for kids especially. I love seeing little girls' feet with them on.

  9. I can remember my cousin Leah buying these for like 2 bucks a pair back in the late 80's. They are comparable to crocs because they can be made cheaply, and in many different colors.
